The new issue of Big Takeover, with Wilco on the cover and a review of the Wowz's Long Grain Rights and Nicotine Bubble Gum on the inside, is now out! Besides the rad Wowz review on page 266 ("Stylistically, The WoWz hark back to '60s sounds - Dylan on the dark imagery and acoustic, ramshackle 'When I Die'; a scruffier, folkier Hollies on 'He Wanders' - but with a deliberate lack of polish that's very modern."), the mag features the first ever RiYL / Luv-A-Lot print ad on page 301!! Cool.

(CR)HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (For, like, vegetarians and stuff). Today, in RiYL land, tofurkey and potatoes will be eaten and wine will be consumed. The Morningsides and the Wowz got the lead-off single and album reviews in the November Edition of England's Tasty Fanzine. Pretty cool, no? Of the Morningsides, they said: "If ever someone had distilled the essence of summer and pressed it on to a slab of vinyl, this is it. Top class summer pop, for these cold winter nights." Of the Wowz, they said: "[Long Grain Rights] is a joy to hear... and it contains some of the best quirky pop you will hear this year. Well Done."
The Morningsides also got a nod from trakMARX.com, who said: "NYC's the Morningsides play 60s garage rock with the emphasis on 50s rock n roll & early Dylan...
'Summer Song' sounds like Pavement sing Dylan. These boys piss all over the Kings Of Leon - & there are NO - repeat after me - NO - moustaches. Result."

DAMN: RiYL bands go show crazy. Not only are DAGGERHEARTS opening for LE TIGRE and RATATAT at Vassar College on December 4th, but the Fugue are embarking on an extensive tour to support the release of the "Four Corner Races" 7". Check out the shows section for the full scoop!
