Morningsides on IndiePages!  ///  Tuesday, 29  ///  dispatch from Chris!

Hey ev'ryone! The Morningsides got a nice review yesterday over at IndiePages.com ! Here's an abbreviated version for your reading pleasure:

"This is the debut release for both the band and the label, and a good start for each. ['Summer Song' is] a rockin' tune that you'd swear came from Canada... On the flip is 'A Mole Hill Is A Mound', a much quieter song with brushed drums and bells, that sounds almost like a 50s ballad. A fine debut... Let's hope to hear more like this soon! MTQ=2/2."

To read the full review, click HERE. We're almost through the first 100 copies, so if you want a copy, you might wanna grab one now over in the CAPITALISM section. Stay tuned for the news on the upcoming releases from the Fugue, the Pathways, the Wowz and Daggerhearts!!

MORNINGSIDES SINGLE RELEASE PARTY!  ///  Wednesday, 9  ///  dispatch from Chris!

Hey all!!! The Morningsides' Single Release Party at Sidewalk this Saturday Night (11pm) got a nice review in the new Time Out New York. Read it for yrself:

"The Wowz's Sam Grossman and Johnny Dydo join songwriter Chris Maher in the Morningsides, a quirky trio that will celebrate the release of its debut seven-inch tonight (Recommended If You Like Records). The album's two antifolk ditties wouldn't sound out of place on the Rushmore soundtrack. The Wowz and Maher will play both separately and together tonight."

Needless to say, we're stoked. Since our first single has now received some deserving press, we thought you might like to see what else we've got brewing here at RiYL Records. Below are the covers of two of our upcoming singles, the Pathways' Productivity 7" (designed by the talented John Finneran) and the Fugue's Four Corner Races 7" (designed by Canadian superstars Seripop):

And, while we're at it, here are the preliminary covers for the two first CD releases on RiYL, the first RiYL Comp and the Wowz full length, Long Grain Rights:

< br/>Don't miss the Morningsides record release party at Sidewalk Cafe this Saturday night, June 12th (or the Bar Matchless show at 9pm tomorrow night)!!
