U.E.S. JOURNAL  ///  Friday, 27  ///  dispatch from Chris!

A note from Rebecca Schiffman:

Hello friends,

My zine, The Upper East Side Journal, which probably only a few of you saw in print, now has a complete website with all the content from the first issue plust lots of added fun stuff which will be updated often.

Here is the website: www.uesjournal.com

Highlights include a revealing interview with a doorman, an interview with anonymous republicans, a comic strip by jeff lewis about the history of the guggenheim, an essay by momus, and now in the relics section- photos from a fancy party that I found on the sidewalk on Madison and 87th yesterday, and a diary entry from a journal I found at the Goodwill on 89th Street.

Please check out the site, especially if you are bored at work surfing the net- I'm hoping it will be a fun and interesting site to explore. I welcome any comments, feedback, and suggestions. and submissions too!

See you on the u.e.s.

TWO NEW DISTRO ITEMS!  ///  Sunday, 22  ///  dispatch from Chris!

Champions: We've got two new distro items in the RiYL Store that we're really excited about. The first is a compilation from our buddies at Baskerville Hill in Seattle, Washington. The compilation is called Dr. Rhinoceros or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Charge and features songs from RiYL acts The WoWz ("Sometimes I Feel Life" from Long Grain Rights) and Chris Maher (an exclusive version of the previously unreleased "Ungrown Flowers") in addition to a bunch of songs from the Baskerville Hill roster: throw me the statue, Black Bear, The Altamont, in winter, The Ponytails and Gavroche! We're totally digging this record... We're sure you will, too.

The second new distro item features our very own The Fugue alongside Lovepump United's much-hyped (and totally awesome) AIDS Wolf. The release is a split 7-inch from our friends over at Blood of the Drash. We've got a few copies on translucent-red vinyl and a few more on sexy-black vinyl. We're one of the last places carrying the first pressing so don't miss your opportunity to get this essential record!

And, don't forget to check out all the other cool stuff we've got in the distro; records by Dufus (ROIR), Dream Bitches (Olive Juice), Huggabroomstik/Wooden Ghost (Luv-A-Lot/Tuolumne), Sonya Cotton (BloodShake), Thomas Patrick Maguire (Luv-A-Lot), David Knowles (Stovetop) and Dibs (Luv-A-Lot)!!
